If you are new or have no idea what Dappsify FAQs are, this should answer your question: It consists of an interview containing 5 general inquiries and 2 game-specific questions for the blockchain game developer.
There’s an interview with the team of ExoPlanets and here are the questions:
- How long does it take your team to finish this kind of game? How many are you in your team? And why is it important to have more than one person creating game.
It takes a long time to develop any kind of playable game. This is not just another simple collectibles game that you can copy paste. This is a fully playable game that works with crypto. We are currently 6 people in the team. You can find this info in our whitepaper: https://exoplanets.io/whitepaper
One person cannot possibly posses all the skills required to develop a high quality game. A person can be either a good programmer, a good designer or a good entrepreneur, but he can’t be all. A product that has a specific individual that specializes in its field for every aspect of the product will always be better than a product that has 1 person in charge of several aspects of the product.
2. Have you developed or worked on any type of gaming before aside from dApps? What makes you so interested in creating blockchain games rather than other online games?
This is our first game as a team, but some of us had some experience in the gaming industry before. We believe that blockchain technology has some very strong advantages in the gaming field over traditional games and this is where the entire gaming industry will head to. True ownership, decentralization and transparency are things that are missing right now in the gaming industry. Not to mention the profits 🙂
3. Blockchain game developing can be a tiring process, how will you refrain from burning out?
Every kind of development is a tiring process. In our case, the thing that keeps us going is our amazing community and fans that keep on believing and supporting us and enjoying our game. That really fuels us to go forward and make the best crypto game in the world.
4. What is the most rewarding part about developing games?
When players say they love our game, share pictures of their progress and talk about the game with passion, that is the most rewarding feeling we have experienced in any kind of work we have ever had. The feedback and enthusiasm of our players is incredible and really something we can’t describe with words.
5. What is one piece of advice you have for aspiring game developers?
Make something extraordinary, invest everything you’ve got in it, make it unique and beautiful, make it interactive and playable. Every aspect of it needs to be top notch – that is what gives value to the game assets. That is why ExoPlanets are very highly priced compared to other crypto games assets. Their initial price is high and it stays high even after it changes a few owners.
6. How can you maintain the ExoPlanets being scientifically accurate?
We are relying on NASA’s exoplanets archives, which contains a database of all confirmed exoplanets that we know of. Using that info we are creating ERC721 tokens that represents the exoplanets, and then link them to a beautiful interactive 3D model in our website that allows players to view them, read the scientific info about them, and even view their data entry in NASA’s database.
7. How to play Exo Planets?
In order to play ExoPlanets, first you need to get yourself a planet. You can explore all the planets in the game in our galaxy page, or dive straight into the market and see what players are offering for sale right now. We are releasing new ExoPlanets from time to time so you can join our Discord or Telegram channels to get live notifications when that happens. Once you get yourself an ExoPlanet, it will start evolving life. Every planet has 7 evolutionary stages it must go through. With each stage you will be able to see changes on the planet’s surface – water will appear, plants will grow, some animals might even show up at some point. Once the planet is fully evolved and has intelligent life capable of space travel on it, you will be able to send out exploration spaceships to explore the galaxy and claim smaller resource planets to mine resources and ExoTokens required to further your galactic expansion. This part of the game is still under development, and it will be fully playable in a 3D environment. Some glimpses and short videos of it has been released and it people are really loving the actual game feel.
