If you are new or have no idea what Dappsify FAQs are, this should answer your question: It consists of an interview containing 5 general inquiries and 2 game-specific questions for the blockchain game developer.
There’s an interview with the team of CryptoMinerWorld and here are the questions:
1. How long does it take you and your team to finish this kind of game? How many are you in your team? And why is it important to have more than one person creating a game?
From idea to launch should take around a year. We started the process last December.
There are 4 of us on the team, as of now. I hope to grow that to 6 or 7 before launch.
Having more than one person just allows us to do more, faster. It also allows you to get experts in specific areas. I was a solo dev for 6 years before this project. I did all the coding, art, music, etc. It was great doing a little of everything, but the projects just took so long! It has been amazing working with my team now and seeing how much we can get done in so little time.
2. Have you developed or worked on any type of gaming before? What makes you feel that you are
As I touched on in #1, yes, I have been making games for 6 years professionally. I started my company making Mobile games. First game was Grumpy Monkey, second was Yin Yang BANG BANG. I started my first PC/Console game, but had to shelf it because of finances.
I am really interested in Blockchain because of its potential. I am a big fan of blockchain tech overall. And as a game designer it seems like a great fit for creating a trustless environment, with ownership, and value. I love that I was able to enter this environment before it gets over saturated, like what happened when I got into mobile games. It is still early on in the Dapp Game world, so there are going to be growing pains. But I am excited to adapt with the progress of the tech.
3. Blockchain game developing can be a tiring process, how will you refrain from burning out?
It is harder to get burnt out when you are doing something you are passionate about. But no matter how passionate you are about something. I think it is very important to engage in other activities outside of your work. I try to go rock climbing a few times a week. I think it’s important to do other things not only to fight burnout, but to help your brain think of other things which in turn will help you be better at your main job. Rock climbing is both a physical and mental workout, which is fantastic!
4. What is the most rewarding part about developing games?
Definitely, the most rewarding part is seeing a community grow around the game. Watching them have discussions around it, and get excited about it, is really amazing to witness. Second to that is just watching the world you envision come to life. I can’t wait to have the world living and breathing with the community that has formed around it. I just want to get to launch already!!!
5. What is one piece of advice you have for aspiring game developers?
Start simple. Do not come at this thinking you will make the next Fortnite, or World of Warcraft. Set your expectations to make pong, or tetris. Once you nail down the fundamentals on a game like that you can start to branch out. You will quickly realize the large amount of work it takes to even make a “simple” game like pong. And focus on making a simple game feel really good. But try to put your personal touch on it. Once you finish making something that is truly fun, feels good, and is uniquely yours, you will feel fantastic. Take that boost of confidence and drive to build something a bit more complex. Keep working your way up. It is truly an amazing thing to do, creating a game!
6. How long does it take for the Gem to automatically dig deeper land?
The time it takes to have a gem dig to the bottom of a plot of land varies greatly. The composition of the plot of land, the Grade of the Gem, any artifacts a player may own, all of these and more affect how quickly one can mine a plot of land. But on an average plot of land and no other bonuses, the worst gem will take a little over a month, and the best gem will take a week.
7. How can the user upgrade Gem’s age?
You can increase a Gems Age (level) by using the silver ore you find while mining. Gems Grade (how fast it mines) can be increased with Gold ore you find while mining.
